Meet our Instructors

Tiana Hughey

Siouxsie Hernandez

Siouxsie began her dance training at the age of 5 with classes in classical ballet, jazz, and Hawaiian dance from private studios and the Oakland Ballet school. As a Bay Area native, she has worked throughout recreation centers in the East Bay since the age of 16. She has taught a myriad of classes primarily in ballet, modern, contemporary, and hip hop. In 2018 she graduated from the University of California Davis with a double major in Communications and Linguistics. After earning her degrees, she continues to dedicate herself to the art of dance with the purpose of inspiring the next generation of artists.

Cennellis Baron

Cennellis Baron, a native of New York City, began her dance training at the age of 15 after joining her high school's dance team. After training at the Ailey School and Peridance Capezio Center for a few years, she went on to receive her BA in Dance and writing at Point Park University, where she had the opportunity to learn from inspiring teachers and artists. Since graduating, she spent time as a freelance dance artist while also working as a teaching artist in various high schools. Cennellis has taught through artist programs such as Dancewave and worked in reputable studios such as Ballet Hispanico. Though she is predominantly trained in Hip Hop and Modern, Cennellis also teaches Contemporary and Street Jazz and enjoys practicing other dance styles. In August, Cennellis made the move to California and is currently enjoying her time as a part of the East Bay Dance Center team, an afterschool program and dance studio, and a Hip Hop teacher at DC Dance Center.

Marcela Bumpus

Marcela Bumpus born in Santa Tecla, El Salvador raised in Queens, NY began her classical ballet training at the age of 9. She studied at LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts, Joffrey Ballet School and Paul Taylor Dance Company. She holds a BFA in Dance Performance from SUNY Purchase College. Upon graduation Marcela joined Verb Ballets in Cleveland, OH performing a wide variety of classical and contemporary works. She returned to New York where she co directed, choreographed and performed with Eros Movement Co, identically different dance festival and the Warwick Summer Arts Festival. She is currently lead teacher, sound healer and manager at Ritual Hot Yoga (FiDi).

Talisa Solorzano

Talisa Solorzano has been dancing for 14 years and has trained in all different styles of dance at various different studios. Talisa was a competitive dancer for five years, she was a part of Amador Valley High School’s dance team and is currently a part of Las Positas College’s dance program. Talisa is pursuing a Dance major with a BFA in college and is working towards a career of becoming a Dance Choreographer. Talisa

has a genuine passion for dance and loves to share her creativity among others.

Ashley Adams

Miss Ashley has been dancing at DC since she was 2 1/2 years old. She loves to bring lots of personality, creativity and fun to the stage! She has experience in Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Ballet, Lyrical, and Contemporary styles. She has also taken classes in Musical Theater, African and Ballet Folklorico. As well as working at the studio she has been working with children for over 10 years. She is currently working towards her bachelors degree at California State University East Bay for Business with a concentration in Marketing. Miss Ashley really enjoys working with children and is devoted to making every child feel special.
